50th Birthday Wishes

We have received many birthday wishes from past pupils, parents and staff.

  • Dear Arbor Primary family, past and present. Congratulations on this most auspicious celebration. We all have happy memories of our years at the purple place, before we scattered around the world. Here’s to the next 50! Richard Johnston (2012), London. Joanne (Dalgliesh) Johnston (1982), Boksburg. Rory Dalgliesh (1983), York, UK
  • Firstly, Congratulations on turning 50. My name is Shirl Loock and I attended Arbor the very first year they opened. I was then Shirl Mathers and did my standard 5 at Arbor. My teacher was Mr Myberg and I remember he had black hair and a black bokkie beard. One of the homely memories I have of Arbor is walking down the corridors with the smell of homemade soup coming from the kitchen. I am very proud to say that my Grandchildren, Lacey and Troy Loock and Colin Munro have carried on the tradition along with my daughter in law Schavaughn Loock which is one of your teachers. Nothing like keeping it all in the family. Keep up the high standard and enjoy the birthday celebrations.
  • One of the greatest honors in my teaching career was teaching young minds at Arbor. Wishing Arbor Primary school a very Happy 50 years. Much love, Cheri Burrows
  • I honestly can’t imagine the atmosphere of Arbor this year. With the unique culture that Arbor Primary holds deep in its raging heart of excellence, it must be a privilege to be able to celebrate this enormous milestone. 50 years! Spectacular. 50 years of the highest teaching, the finest students, and the most staggering character as a whole. That Arbor flag must feel proud as ever to be flying underneath the warm African sun. Congratulations Arbor. You’ve done it. Head Boy of 2022 Damon Krauss
  • My journey at Arbor started in 1981 when I was in Grade 1 and ended in 2022 when we left South Africa. It has been a happy place for me through all those years: as a pupil, a teacher and a parent. I was part of Arbor, but Arbor will always be part of me. Happy 50th birthday to this unbelievable school. Lots of love Mrs Krauss
  • As an Alumni and former educator of the Arbor Primary family, I would like to wish the school a very Happy 50th birthday. I pray to God to keep on making Arbor “The best on the East Rand”, and to take Arbor to even greater heights in the next 50yrs. Much love. Mr Solethu Sajini
  • Wow Arbor 50 years and counting. My family joined Arbor when my daughter Liesel was 5 (can you believe it) I worked in the tuckshop with a super group of moms. Then my daughter Karen joined the school and the principal asked the tuckshop ladies if anyone would like to work in the office. I jumped at it even though I had never worked before. I loved working at Arbor I worked for 3 different principals as their P.A. the last been, “Mr A”. After 25 years at Arbor I had to retire . All I can say now is you go Arbor you are still the best on the East Rand – Gloria Loggenberg
